COVID-19 Update at HVSR

As HVSR deals with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) which is spreading in our Kingston community we are taking this opportunity to let those who have interest in HVSR know what we are doing to maintain the health and safety of our residents and staff. HVSR is in contact with the NYS Department of Health, the Ulster County Department of Health and the Ulster County Office of Emergency Management to stay current on public developments.

At this time there are NO REPORTED cases of COVID-19 at HVSR. None of our residents or staff have any symptoms associated with the virus at this time.

However, to try to curtail the spread of COVID-19 we have closed HVSR to all visitations as of Saturday, March 14th, 2020. This includes denying access to delivery services and other non-essential consultants, service persons or repairmen. We meet every morning and review the conditions of all our residents. We screen our staff daily ensuring that there are no signs or symptoms of respiratory conditions including colds, the Flu or COVID-19; and as they begin each work shift their temperature is taken as part of their screening. When any staff member is within six feet of a resident they are instructed to wear a respiratory facemask.

Our residents receive regular updates of all that is occurring from the Administrator and Nurse Case Manger, so they are aware of what to expect from staff. The administrator has emailed the families of our residents regularly, to keep them informed as well. We are promoting hand washing and respiratory etiquette to our staff and all residents. We are maintaining daily sanitizing of our hallway handrails, doorknobs, counter tops and other “high touch” areas. We have installed a sanitizer dispenser at our Front Entrance and we request that everyone sanitize their hands before entering our building.
